Situation: Large college, rollout of Win7 PC’s. On student pc’s, all users are a member of the local guests group so that their profile is wiped upon logoff. This was done because delprof.exe no longer functions in win7, and several students a day would be logging into each pc, causing a very large amount of profiles to accumulate.

We evaluated using Group Policy to delete profiles older than a certain amount of days, but that requires a local admin to login to each machine so that the user profile service an wipe the profiles according to. The problem: Adobe Design Premium CS5 will not run on guest accounts due to their new DRM. Since Adobe makes no attempts to remedy any of the many problems they have with their software, and its obviously not win7 compatible; we need a viable alternative to putting users in the guests group so that profiles are wiped and security is not compromised. To centrally manage the computers, you need to add these computers into a domain. Otherwise, you have to change the configurations one by one on each computers. Are the computers in a domain? You may consider to create a mandatory profile on each computer and give this account the administrative privilege.
